GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

TESDA-PTC, Gender and Development Program (Siomai and Empanada Making) TESDA – PTC, Lingayen, Pangasinan conducted Gender and Development Program entitled Siomai and Empanada Making participated by forty five (45) men and women from different community last August 12, 2016 under the supervision of Provincial Director and PTC-OIC Manuel B. Wong. It is primarily addressed to the poor and marginal groups, those who cannot access, or are not accessible by formal training provisions. They have low skills, limited management abilities, and have few economic options. They have no access to capital – most of them are unqualified for formal credit programs. The program goes further than just mere skills training provision. It is purposively designed to catalyse the creation of livelihood enterprises that shall be implemented by the trainees, immediately after the training.

The Bureau of Fire Protection headed by Municipal Fire Marshal SFO4 Charmy V. Ocampo conducted a joint fire drill with Tesda-Provincial Training Center staff & trainees and Tesda Provincial Office Staff relative to disaster preparedness in case of fire, last August 25, 2016 at TESDA PTC Compound. Their mission is to commit to prevent and suppress destructive fires, investigate its causes; enforce Fire Code and other related laws: respond to man-made and natural disasters and other emergencies. They trained the participants on how-to-use the Fire Extinguisher during the fire explosion and teach the PO and PTC staff to Form a School/Building Disaster Management Committee (S/BDMC) composed of several teams with specific tasks like First Aid Team, Site Security Team, Fire Safety Team, Evacuation Team Communication Team and designate an Overall Team.
